Student Retention Policy

Whereas on the recommendation of the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) there is a need to have an official Student Retention Policy in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:35-4.9.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that any student who exceeds 19 absences throughout the course of the academic year, Golden Door Charter School reserves the right to retain said student in the same grade for the next academic year.

It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the GDCS Board of Trustees, by vote below indicated at the regular meeting held on Thursday, April 29, 2004.

7A. Whereas on the recommendation of the CAO there is a need to have an official Student Retention Policy in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:35-4.9.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that any student who receives a cumulative failing grade in two major subjects, said subjects being; Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science & History; Golden Door reserves the right to retain said student in the same grade for the next academic year.

It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the GDCS Board of Trustees, by vote below indicated at the regular meeting held on Thursday, April 29, 2004.

7B. Whereas on the recommendation of the CAO there is a need to have an official Student Retention Policy in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:35-4.9.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Parents and/or Guardians have the right to appeal a retention to the GDCS Board of Trustees and the Golden Door GDCS Board of Trustees reserves the right to review, uphold and/or reject said recommendations.
