Elementary Teacher - 4th Grade

 
Golden Door Charter School is looking for a knowledgeable and creative teacher able to teach, develop and remediate instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science and/or history in an elementary classroom setting.  Good classroom management skills and experience is highly preferred. New Jersey Standard Elementary Certification or New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility is required.  

 

Foreign Language Teacher

Golden Door Charter School in Jersey City is looking for a talented Foreign Language teacher who is motivated and a self-starter in Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic or Hindi. This position includes instruction to over 600 students in grades Pre-K through the eighth grade. New Jersey Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility in appropriate language is required.

Special Education Teacher

Looking for an enthusiastic, motivated self-starter who is experienced and capable of working with students with disabilities for the 2019-2020 school year. This individual will be responsible for special education program implementation, in-class support and co-teaching for either elementary or middle school grades.

New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped Certificate or Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Must be certified and fulfill New Jersey requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher Status. 

Computer Teacher

Golden Door Charter School is looking for a knowledgeable and creative computer teacher with experience using the latest computer technology, technology devices and software systems and has in-depth knowledge in the following areas: Microsoft Office Applications; Google Apps for Education (GAFE) /G Suite; Online Technology; Chromebooks; 21st Century instructional practices; and possess good classroom management skills. New Jersey Standard Elementary Certification or New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility is required with experience in computer instruction.

Master Teacher - P/T

Golden Door Charter School in Jersey City is looking for a P/T Master Teacher (as per below) that could come onsite up to 3 times per month from October through May for 4 hours per day to work with each of our three PK Teachers.  Interested parties should contact Tabitha Madera, Pre-K Supervisor at tmadera@goldendoorschool.org

PRIORITIES

Priority 1: Master teachers should dedicate the greatest amount of time to classroom visits engaging teachers in reflective practice. During these visits, master teachers should observe classroom practices and provide feedback directly to teaching staff, plan and model exemplary practices and meet with the program directors or principals. Recordkeeping, including use of the Reflective Cycle, should be maintained during these visits.
Priority 2: A substantial amount of time, but less than that devoted to classroom visits, will be dedicated to providing and planning for professional development experiences for classroom teachers. Professional development experiences should be aligned with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, the school district's DOE approved curriculum and the district's DOE approved professional development plan. Experiences should be differentiated to match varying levels of experience and expertise of the instructional staff. Professional development should be presented in a variety of participant settings, ranging from small groups to cohorts to entire staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A bachelor's degree and teacher certification;
- 3 to 5 years' experience teaching in preschool programs;
- Experience providing professional development to classroom teachers;
- Experience in implementing developmentally appropriate preschool
  curricula;
- Experience with performance-based preschool assessments; and

Master teachers shall hold certification as follows:
      •    Preschool through grade three standard instructional certificate; OR
      •    Standard elementary school instructional certificate and the
           equivalent of two academic years of full-time experience teaching
           three and four-year olds under the certificate in a position that would  
           require the preschool through grade three endorsement; OR
     •    Standard New Jersey nursery school instructional certificate; OR
     •    Preschool through grade three endorsement in addition to other
          standard instructional certificate, except as indicated at N.J.A.C.
          6A:9-11.2 and 11.7.

Substitute Teachers (Pre-K-8)

The Golden Door Charter School in Jersey City is seeking substitute teachers for the 2018-2019 school year at the rate of $100 per day. Our existing sub pool is small so there should be ample opportunity for consistent work.  This is also a great opportunity to showcase your classroom skills for future jobs openings as there is a good chance a position(s) will open up for the upcoming school year.
