Dear
Parents and Guardians,
The
purpose of this letter is to inform you of an opportunity being offered
to your
child. As part of the No Child Left
Behind Act (NCLB) your child may be eligible for tutoring at no cost to
you. The program is designed to
increase your
child’s academic achievement, test scores and meet the state standards.
The
NCLB act gives parents a choice in their child’s education. You may have the opportunity to choose a
tutoring program, or Supplemental Educational Service from a list of
state
approved providers. These services are over and
above those ordinarily provided in the regular classroom during the
regular
school day. You will be responsible for
arranging transportation to and from the provider you choose.
Parents
interested in this exciting opportunity must choose a tutoring service
from a
state approved provider. The approved
providers are posted on the New Jersey Department of Education Web
site, or you
may see a revised list of local providers attached.
At your request, your child’s teacher or
principal can assist you in selecting an appropriate provider.
You
have the option of choosing from ANY of the supplemental educational
services
on the NJDOE website. Due to limited
funding and the number of student’s eligible, enrolled students will be
prioritized according to need.
If
you would like to take advantage of this opportunity and enroll your
child in a
supplemental educational service please fill out the enclosed form and
return
it to your child’s teacher by November 6, 2007.
Please call or e-mail me with any questions your may have.
I hope you will
join us in
supporting our students and teachers as we work towards the continuing
academic
achievement of all of the students at Golden Door.
Sincerely,
Lisa
Lupi
